“Don’t tell a soul

What happened in this room”

And within those walls

Was born both a miracle and a sin

One man was honest

The other was just on her

So

How was she to know

The difference between

Heaven

Hell

Yes

And no

Convicts

Convents

Covens

Convictions

Can decipher

Prisoners, nuns, witches, gurus

From one

Another

Possessing

The marks of fault lines

Drawn tight and deep

Like the archer’s bow

Hung and strung

Out for blood

When we’ve dissociated for long enough

Is it ever safe

To return to the place

Where you told us

Never to know

No, never to tell

How much,

In those moments, where you took

And gave

Sacrificial life

In exchange for

Eternal devotion

Left us to wonder

Is this numb, aching, conflicted, guilt-ridden, hungry, oppressed, lonely, terrified, humiliated, ambivalent, exhausted question mark in our heart

Love?~

Luke 8
