How much does it take
Must we give
Lose
Labor
Pains
Pay?
What is the cost of admission
For self-actualization?
How tall must we be to ride this ride
To receive that prized
Most High
Peak of Maslow’s pyramid
That satisfaction we seek in all the wrong people, trivial pursuits and places
Numb and nameless
Existing in a sea of familiar strangers
That endless, empty dream
We can’t ever seem to wake from
Cotton candied
Manifest destiny
Seems reserved for those
Privileged
Saccharine sluts
Bittersweet sister c$&ts
Who don’t know a thing about
About nothing
As in the void of absolute
Everything
Zero
Versus get
Good riddance
Off the backs of ride or die
Karmic trash people
Eating lies because we’re hungry
And don’t have access to
Any body butter
The Betters
Only come along to stand there
And declare we’re unworthy
Of freshly painted walls
Invaded by some mysterious intruder
In red boots who pounced
From shady untrimmed bushes
Right through the front door
Deemed a filthy toddler whore
Who wakes the dead
repeatedly screaming
From a life sentence of paralysis
Stay in your lane
Which is that gutter
Just outside the lines
Margin people
Swept aside an aside and aside
Each exposure
Pushing
Exhausting frayed telomeres
Beyond their limits
Cause how do we set boundaries with a paradigm?
There’s a hole in your arrogant Tedtalk
Mister Man
Named my broken energy field
Through which they get to assault and exit
At free will
Whenever they choose
And what choices are we left with
But to foolishly love, trust, pray and play
Again and again and again
Until all that’s that left
Is right
All that’s left
Is light~
“Eating lies because we’re hungry / And don’t have access to / Any body butter” – Wow.
